Simplifying Dinner: Introduction
As part of an on-going effort to describe some of the ways I have simplified my life, I decided to tackle the thing that was the most pressing concern before I stepped on the path of simplification: cooking.
About 6 years ago, it was not uncommon for us to get home from work and stare at each other until someone would ask, “What’s for dinner?” We ate out 3-4 times per week, spent far too much money on groceries that never seemed to get used, made too many trips to the grocery store, and both of us were gaining weight at an alarming rate.
There are four parts to this on-going process that can be adjusted and simplified, removing stress from your life: planning, purchasing, preparation and cleanup.
