Napping and Pzizz

Napping. An almost forgotten art.

The funny thing is that many countries outside the U.S. take napping and resting seriously. I was lamenting to an Indian co-worker last week that Americans have forgotten how to relax in our push to get more done and stay on top of our games.

In the last week, I have found a need to nap. My night sleep has been disturbed, and I find myself flagging mid-afternoon. My first thought was to grab another cup of coffee…but with my lack of concentration, I decided to head home and grab a nap.

My favorite method of napping is to settle into a comfy chair, put my feet up, and listen to a power nap script generated from Pzizz

Pzizz is a software package that will generate energizer naps (for daytime) and sleep naps (for nighttime). I originally bought the package because of chronic problems sleeping at night, but I find that I am now using the energizer naps more.

Pzizz tracks are a combination of music, natural sounds (like waves and birds), voice using (NLP) and biaural beats. It is relaxing, and deeply refreshing. I have never overslept on a nap, and consistently wake up feeling better than I do in the morning.

As a working mom, I really don’t have time to take extended naps, but yet my energy does lag at times. Taking a short nap allows me to have more energy for my daughter and the non-work activities.
