Gadgets We Love: Mr. Clean Erasers

My mother gives me all sorts of gadgets to keep my house in better shape. Most of them don’t work. The However, after my then-two-year-old drew in crayon all over the dining room walls, I decided to give the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Extra Power Cleaning Pads (aff) a try, because my mother swore that it took crayon off walls. It worked like a charm. Since then, I have discovered other uses for them.

What Is A Mr. Clean Eraser?

The eraser appears like a soft sponge out of the box. By wetting it down and rubbing it, it takes all sorts of difficult surface dirt off — with little or no damage to the surface itself.

Where To Get Them

Mr. Clean Erasers are available in most grocery and discount stores.

How I’ve Used Them

As mentioned before, I used them to remove crayon on my dining room walls. These walls are plastered and have a rough texture, but the eraser removed the marks without damaging the plaster or the paint.

My shower floor, created out of a plastic that is not smooth, gathers dirt and soap scum like nothing I’ve seen. The eraser takes it off beautifully.

While I was scrubbing the shower floor, I also tried the eraser on the glass shower doors. It took the soap scum off much better than the expensive sprays, and I didn’t have to breathe any harsh chemicals.

A co-worker of mine uses the eraser to clean his microwave. It powers through petrified food and grease quickly.

My latest discovery is that the eraser removes wax from sinks. Without scratching the surface.

Summary

If you have a mark on something that you can’t get out, or a difficult-to-clean item, try a Mr. Clean eraser.
