Gadgets We Love: Key Lanyards
I misplace my keys. Frequently.
I have noticed that the frequency of misplaced keys has increased since I bought the hybrid car, since I no longer need the key to start the car (it just has to be in the car). And it can be a panicky feeling to not know where your keys are just as you pull a locked door shut behind you.
Solution: Lanyards
People can laugh all they want about lanyards, but with one attached to my keys, I always know where they are.
I tie the lanyard to my purse or briefcase strap before putting the keys in the bag. Then when I need them, I just pull them out. If they’re not attached, I put them down somewhere else.
When I get home from work, I put the keys in the basket by the door. I can see the lanyard from a distance, and I know if the keys are still there.
A coworker lost his keys at the beach last weekend when they fell out of his pocket. With a lanyard, he could have tied them to a belt loop or worn them around his neck.
