4 Steps to Simplify Cleaning Windows

To me, having a clean window to look out of lifts my spirits. Grime and dust sink me and cloud my vision of the beauty outside. I recently completed cleaning my windows around the house, and I am loving the beautiful clarity.

Here are 4 Steps to Simplify Cleaning Your Windows

1. Remove Window Treatments

Cleaning windows is much easier if you take down blinds and curtains before you start. Come to think of it, when was the last time you cleaned the blinds and curtains? Blinds can be done in a bathtub or outside with a hose; check the tags on the curtains for proper cleaning methods. If you can’t clean them, at least give them a good dusting.

2. Don’t Clean Windows In Full Sunshine

If you try and clean windows that the sun is pouring through, you will find yourself with more streaks than you know what to do with. Wait until the sun isn’t coming through the window.

3. Have Your Supplies At Hand

Have your cleaning solution, and your mopping up tools handy. These can range from commercial window cleaner to plain old vinegar; squeegees, newspaper, coffee filters or rags. Once you spray the windows, you want to get cleaning right away. Don’t let anything dry on the windows.

4. Don’t Let the Cleaning Solution Dry On The Windows

If the cleaning solution dries on the windows, you will have to re-wash them. Save yourself the effort and wipe them up right after you spray.
